Layers of translucent majolica glaze settle beautifully into the relief, creating the wonderfully irregular shifts of green, cream, taupe and pink that give antique majolica so much character.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe softly curving handle and generous nine-inch scale give the pitcher plenty of presence without making it cumbersome—a beautiful piece for a collected cabinet, tabletop or majolica display. Based on its construction, glazing and naturalistic molded decoration, the pitcher is consistent with \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003elate-19th-century Victorian majolica, likely English, circa 1880–1900\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e.
