Custom Scalamandré Jardin de Chine Ciel Pagoda Lampshade with Fu Dog Trim

DESCRIPTION

A one-of-a-kind custom pagoda lampshade covered in Scalamandré’s beautiful Jardin de Chine wallcovering in the Ciel colorway.

The softly powder-blue ground is layered with sweeping bamboo, flowering vines, stylized blossoms and whimsical butterflies in shades of ivory, blue-grey and fresh chartreuse. Inspired by antique hand-painted Chinese silk wall panels, Jardin de Chine has all the romance of classic Chinoiserie in a wonderfully fresh palette.

The dramatic pagoda silhouette gives the shade its architectural presence, but the finishing details are what make this piece truly special.

Along the lower edge, ivory passementerie tassels alternate with translucent jade-tone fu dog charms, adding movement, texture and just the right touch of Chinoiserie whimsy.

The interior is finished in metallic gold, creating a beautifully polished appearance while reflecting a warm glow when the lamp is illuminated.

Large enough to make a statement, this shade would be fabulous atop a faux-bamboo, brass, ceramic or dark wood lamp base—and is an easy way to turn an otherwise simple lamp into something completely custom.
