Description

If you like your vintage brass with a little history showing, she’s got you.

This wonderfully timeworn brass umbrella stand has the classic proportions we love: a tall cylindrical body, flared rim and base, and a pair of handsome cast lion-head ring handles. At 21.5 inches tall, she has plenty of presence without taking up much floor space—perfect beside an entry door, tucked into a mudroom, or filled with walking sticks and umbrellas in an old-house foyer. She would also be charming used decoratively, with a fern tucked into the top and spilling over at the front door for a layered, collected look.

And then there’s the finish.

This is not pristine, polished brass, nor are we pretending it is. The surface has developed considerable character over the years, with age spotting, oxidation, scratching, scuffing, and wonderfully irregular coloration throughout. For someone who loves the mellow, imperfect surface of old brass, it gives the piece enormous personality.

Structurally, however, she remains in very good vintage condition and feels sturdy and substantial.
