DESCRIPTION

A little English china with considerably more charm than the average salad—or dinner roll—requires.

Royal Doulton’s discontinued Provencal T.C. 1034 pattern features graceful green scrollwork, tiny blossoms in soft yellow and muted coral, and a charming flower basket at the center. The delicate decoration and gently shaped rims give the creamy white fine china an easy French-country feeling without becoming overly sweet.

Choose between two coordinating sizes:

• The 8-inch salad or dessert plate is perfectly sized for salads, brunch, dessert, or a particularly civilized afternoon snack.
• The 6½-inch bread-and-butter plate also works beautifully for appetizers, petits fours, fruit, tea sandwiches, or a small dessert.

Mix these plates into an existing collection, use several to create a layered vintage table, replace a missing piece from a beloved service, or hang them among a gathering of green and floral plates.

Royal Doulton produced the Provencal pattern from 1967 through 1997. The “Made in England—Fine China” backstamp dates these examples to approximately 1973–1997.
