Vintage Wedgwood Blue Jasperware Lion Mask Cachepot

DESCRIPTION

A classic vintage Wedgwood blue Jasperware cachepot, richly decorated with crisp white neoclassical relief.

The soft matte Wedgwood blue ground is wrapped with beautifully detailed grapevine and floral garlands suspended from lion masks, with small classical figures tucked between the swags. It is exactly the sort of richly layered Jasperware decoration that makes these pieces so wonderful mixed into a traditional or collected interior.

At approximately 4.5 inches tall, it is a particularly useful decorative size—perfect for a small orchid or topiary-style arrangement, but equally handsome left empty on a bookshelf, desk, console or vanity.

Made in England by Wedgwood, the cachepot is a lovely example of the company’s enduring neoclassical Jasperware tradition.
