DESCRIPTION

A classic vintage Wedgwood pale blue Jasperware cake plate in the celebrated Sacrifice pattern, featuring an extraordinary continuous procession of white neoclassical figures against Wedgwood’s unmistakable matte blue ground.

Around the broad rim, finely modeled classical figures, trees and ceremonial scenes create an almost architectural border. The center is intentionally left undecorated, allowing the intricate white relief to take center stage.

At approximately 9.5 inches across, this is a particularly versatile piece of Jasperware. Originally designed as a cake or serving plate, it is equally beautiful displayed upright on a shelf, layered into a china cabinet, or hung as part of a collected blue-and-white plate wall.
